I'm looking to purchase a speedy CD-RW for my B&W G3. I seem to be able to get the best deal on an HP CD-Writer Plus 9300. However, Adaptec doesn't list the 9300 as being compatible with Toast, although they list most of HPs other stuff to be compatible. Has anyone out there tried this product with their Mac or know of any other product, other than Toast, that might make it compatible? Thanks. Have a good Fourth.

I tried out the HP IDE/ATAPI 9310i (based on the 9300, but IDE). It worked fine as a reader with stock Apple CD/DVD driver, I couldn't test if it was bootable, but I got buffer underruns on every burn.. even at 2x! Some people at http://www.xlr8yourmac.com in the Drive Compatability database have gotten this drive to work at 6x. For the money, and for burning speed, you may be happier with a Plextor 12x drive. I get mine tomorrow - and I'll post a review to xlr8's database.
