Hi all,

Since I am about to purchase another harddrive for my B&W G3, I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me choose a good one. (I'm not very skilled in the art of hardware, I just use the stuff since it's very helpful... ;-)

The thing is, MY computer is a Blue&White G3 (300 MHz) equipped with a SCSI card (in order to use my SCSI harddrive, an APS Quantum Fireball 1.2 GB).

But often I work with an older, beige G3 (300 MHz), which of course has a SCSI port by default.

Now, I want to be able to use the harddrive at both locations and when I'm at the beige G3, I have to use my HARDDRIVE AS THE STARTUP DISK (the computer has multiple users and this is my preferred way).

Since the beige G3 doesn't have neither FireWire nor USB ports installed, I reckon it would have to be some kind of external SCSI disk. BUT WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Should it be a BridgeSmart, OneTech, IBM or what? Normal SCSI or WIDE SCSI or what? What alternatives are there? I'd prefer a price range between $250-500.

I'd really like some help with this.

With kindest regards,

without getting into brands and model numbers, i suggest you buy an inexpensive 'naked' scsi hd and an external case and build it yourself... cheapest way to go, if indeed you want an external...

this can be done for a little less than $100, depending on the size of the hd you want
