Watching the iPOD movie http://www.apple.com/hardware/video/ipod_intro.html amde me think, Phil Schiller is trying to make something so boring and something so "Asian market orientated" more than it is.
In Japan there are so many MP3 players out here at cheaper prices. I guess now that the USA economy is sliding, the asian market is ideal to tap.

Heres what I wanted the ipod to do-

Play QT movies aswell.
or
Newton 2 so I can play emulation on the train.

a bigger hd? a bigger screen?
a versatile OS?
the ability to go online, wireless, run a lot of apps, & still fit in a backpack?

social etiquette keeps me from using a few choice expletives.....

Forget about seeing a rebirth of the Newton! It's not going to happen for years, if at all, and not in the form that you want either. I had a 2100 and it was oversized, horrible to use, and hobbled by all the adaptors one needed to connect keyboards etc.

Oh, and by the way, whoever made the commercial obviously hasn't been told that headbanging is just not cool. Never has been. Let's either get some humour back into the commercials, or show us something that hasn't been done before.
