i wonder what happens when you drop a teeny tiny five gig harddrive. i know what happens when you drop the big ones. Its definitely the coolest mp3 player ive seen, but at about $650-$700 canadian, before the 14% salestax, i dont think its gonna last much longer than the cube did. especially when one drop would probably turn it into a $650 booklight.
I should think they'll be fairly solid. They have a 20 minute cache (industry leading apparently) to provide smooth listening.
I'm still very annoyed (to put it mildly) though, as it is not a revolutionary device as stated, and so all the chicken-s--- investors dumped their stocks, taking AAPL down 6%.
The heinous iPod commercial just rubs salt into the wound.
i dont think 6% should be that alarming. AAPL drops everytime steve jobs says anything to anyone with a taperecorder, and AAPL isnt worth that much in the first place.
im with ya tho. its not revolutionary, just a lil bit cooler.
the funny thing is... the press release never said "revolutionary." Instead, it said, "breakthrough," which makes sense for Apple, because it is a breakthrough product for them, as they have never entered the mp3 player arena before.
