What I did was, I had the drive mounted, put my Ti to sleep ( did not un-mount it) and when I awoke the machine, I got the message saying some of the contents may be damaged, and to unmount next time. Should I be concerned?

I would think probably not. You may get that message because the drive did not respond within a certain amount of time. ie external drive was spun down but didn't start spinning prior to receiving communication.

If I am wrong please correct me.
