So far 7 people out of 31 have said that they are going to buy one in the next 3 months that is not bad.

I have some things that can be sold before I buy it so...

(for example: why will I need a minidisc recorder, with an iPod?)
iMac G5 2.0 Ghz 20", 2 GB RAM, 400 GB, OS X 10.4.5, iPod with color screen 60 GB

it definitely must have a way to record audio (mini stereo mic input like a mini disc player perhaps?) before i'd consider buying it.

everything else is right though, size, capacity, firewire, interface.

As far as I can tell ... good product ... barely significant to the PC industry ... hopefully just the beginning.
Apple took a lab tool and made it a consumer product. Microsoft stole that consumer product and made a more mediocre consumer product. Who broke the law? That's right. So support my Mac, you IS clone!

It's not bad. It's worse. It's irrelevant.

Who needs Yet Another Overpriced mp3 Player during this economic recession?

And worse, it doesn't work with people's computers. It works with Macs! How many people have Macs? Nobody has Macs! Everyone who is anyone uses PCs.

Nobody will care about this thing until it gets some decent Windows and Linux software and the price is halved. And gets a USB port along with the Firewire port for some decent compatibility across the board. Or at least an optional USB-to-Firewire adapter.

You have any idea what the US market is like for MiniDisks?
Next to zero.

It's about the same size as the Mac Market is... minidiscs are super useful for musicians like myself that are sample crazy. Now a little 5gb device like the iPod that could record would be *perfect* all they'd really need to do is add another 1/8" stereo connection...
