The official word, given a few weeks ago, is that there is no 'palmtop' coming from Apple. Given that an Apple official went out of his way to make a rare direct denial, the supposition is that it is to be believed, not retranslated to mean that "we don't want anyone to know about it until next MacWorld."
Unfortunately, I can't find it in the archives of macnn.com

I also have a Wallstreet (292) and Virtual PC (3.0/Win95) and have had NO LUCK connecting my Sharp Mobilon TriPad (WinCE) through VPC. Can you describe your harware and software connections? I was about to sell the Sharp, but will happily try again to make things work.
Thanks in advance,

I have a casio E-100 connected through Virtual PC 3.0/NT with a serial connection/adapter. It didn't work very well until I installed Activesync 3.0 and up. Now it connects flawlessly.

Well, I installed the virtualpc 3 with the latest update, then I got a serial cable converter, from serial pctype to an appletalk style cable on the other side. The next step is to select the comm1 serial port in VP preferences as your mac port is connected to the PDA. Then just install the software that came with your PDA. I am able to pass documents, but the PDA does not reads them, because they are Microsoft Word 6 format, and I can not find any converter.
The PDA i´m using is a HP....

If you try using ActiveSync 3.1 that will help and can you try saving the doc in Word97. A/S should then happily od the conversion on the fly. Alternatively as you are going to loose a certain amount of formatting anyway perhaps try saving as html. The document will definitely work then in PocketWord.
