Just got a new laser printer and having trouble getting the 9.2 driver configured.

The X driver works fine.

I put the lexmark ppd in the extensions folder (same place as the laserwriter 8 ppd) but it dosn't show up in the chooser or in the extension manager control panel.

There are also three files with a .ps extension, where do they go, the pdf instructon file dosn't mention them.

I have a 312L and went to Lexmark sit and downloaded their latest drivers. It works fine USB in both 9.2.x and 10.1.x. I also have a Hawking single parallel port print server (oriented upside down) so that the printer can be accessed on my home network. On 9 it is a desktop printer by choosing a Laserwriter 8. Go back to Lexmark site and download the latest installers.

Can't help you there, it was all automatic.
