I got my iPod last week and I do like it a lot! =)

But the headphone cables is not meant to use below sub zero celsius temperature thats for sure! (<32F)
They turn into deep frozen wires and behave more like steelwires! They feel really fragile and i'm pretty sure they will not make it thru a swedish winter without braking...

Apple should have used silicone cables and not cheap pvc ones! =(

Well, that's too bad. You should change them; not too much of a loss as most people seem to hate them.

Want to sell yours to me? They'll be perfect in sunny California, and I heard these babies just KNOCK.

The Sony ones that cover your ears rock as well.

You'll want to keep it in an inside pocket when it's real cold outside too. Below 20 deg F, the display gets dark and I imagine the HD starts to have trouble spinning.

Here in North Pole AK I was using the iPod while chopping wood the other day. It was about -35F (no wind). The wires were indeed pretty much frozen solid and I felt I had to be careful to not stress them or they would probably have snapped. It's a shame. I have four or five other pair of headphones and the quality of the Apple supplied ear pieces far exceeds the others.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to better ear plugs for cold weather? What are the "Sony's" in the earlier reference? BTW, this isn't a troll. We are a small town outside Fairbanks AK.
