This is the software that is currently shipping with ClubMac Firewire hard drives. Do *not* install this software if you are running MacOS 9.0.4.
I installed this package last night after work. after installtion, I disabled HDT 3.0.2, enable the Apple Firewire extensions, shut down, installed the drive & rebooted... My system then went into Finder-crash convulsions, where the Finder would crash after the desktop appeared, an error dialog would pop up ("The Finder has unexpectedy... ...restart you Macintosh"). As soon as I closed the dialog box, the Finder would crash again, displaying the same error. I shut it down, pulled the drive & rebooted. Same problem. Then I rebooted with the "MacOS 9.0.4 all" extension set, and with "MacOS 9.0.4 base" both with the same result. I was able to boot with extensons disabled, and was able to recover system stability by deleting all the preference files that had been modified in the lsst hour or so. I then ran NUM to fiex the disk error brought on by the crashes. I then had to spend time resetting various preferences. The good news is that the drive itself actually works fine. I decided to upgrade to HDT 4.0 & had no difficulty using it to see & format the drive.

FYI this software is also used with Fantom Drive's FireWire HDs. I have had little pronlems with it, except that when I formatted my 20 GB drive the utility thinks that there are 2 20 GB partitions instead of one, and sometimes double-mounts the drive.

Curious...
