Yes, it is an older drive, but usually works just fine. It writes dvds flawlessly, but decides when it will remount and read them. They read fine in other drives.
I have found a good deal of threads discussing the drive and updating it, but cannot find a good, concise thread explaining how to use DVRFlash v2.2 with what firmware version etc. The downloads from Pioneer are .exe files and I'm also concerned about the Kernal version. In addition, because it came with the computer, Apple has the Firmware revision as A606 and I'm not sure how that translates to the Firmware numbers I am getting from the Pioneer website.
In other words, I though I knew what I was doing and the more I read, the more confused I become. If anyone can guide me through this ... it would be greatly appreciated (and then I'd have an idea how to fix the other 6 machines).
