As stated in another post about this very thing, the iPod should have a USB/Firewire adapter (aka bottleneck ) Anyway, the iPod would make a terrific Digitalwallet. I was thinking about getting a Digital wallet for my Sony F707 but those things are about $300 (for the 3gig model) and require some work to get working on a mac. Now if an iPod had software similar to the image capture OSX program and it detected a camera connected to it and would automatically download those files... OH BOY WOULD I BE IN HEAVEN!! I would get away with just getting one memory stick and all would be good! Maybe some day.. all we need is the little adapter and a firmware/software update for the ipod!! Who do I e-mail these sugestions too?

Sure... while we're at it we should put ADB back in Macs...

Floppies too, I think some people are still using those...

How about 5.25 inch floppies... you never know...

Oh, GREAT IDEA... USB punchcard reader! I've got a program that plays BlackJack in punchcards, I've been DYING to use again...

Sure... lets take 2 steps forward... 100 steps back....

(in short, why the heck would apple reverse evolve? Why make a revolutionary Firewire MP3 player... only to bow down and go back to USB..)
--whats this button do?

Goodbye koobi
... we had fun, but Apple Repair and the years have not been kind to you... godspeed...

Well, I think it's too bad that those without firewire can't use this device. But there should be an adapter nonetheless for (well my personal reasons) a digital camera input, and (for others reasons) to actually use the device even if they have to sit there for an hour. heck, this adapter can even look like a minicube w/ apple logo and everything! One end, a firewire plug, the other end the square USB hole (I forget if it's the A or B end). That's what we need... wait.. I forgot, the "intelligent" Image Capture application!!! Something like this would help merge a lot of things don't you think?? Esp w/Apple's Photo quadrant just sitting there all empty for the time being...

Steve said that there are 7 million firewire mac users out there. If you don't have a firewire mac and can't/won't upgrade than just buy another mp3 player.Apple has told me before they are in the hardware business not the upgrade business. This new product fits into their current plan. They want the iPod to bring people to buy a mac.
