I have this four year old logitech mx700 mouse that has served me very well. Here's my problem that started about a week or two ago. Whenever I move it, the cursor often stays in the same place, when I move the mouse fast, the cursor starts to move slowly then jumps to a different location on the screen. I tried the mouse on every surface, but the same thing happens. Is it just too old?

The batteries may be worn out and transmitting a very weak signal. Place the charger right next to the mouse and see if the mouse works properly. If so, then replace the batteries and that should fix it.
