I have a Buslike 60gb firewire hard drive. I store my mp3's on it and only use it when I use iTunes and make cd's for my car. Should I keep it running 24/7 or just when I need it. You can hear the fan (or whatever it is) making noise all the time. Is this safe?[/LIST]

You're wasting an awful lot of electricity.

Why would you run it when you don't need it?
