Hey there, I just got an Acer AL1916w to replace my 2 huge 17" monitors and so far it is great. The only draw back I am having is the edges on some things. For instance, some text is very edgy and same for some icons...like the Toolbar in Finder.

Anyone have any suggestions or any experience with something like this, please respond.

it's the monitor. I have the same one extended off my iMac. You can try this, it should help some:

First test, press the "Auto" button on your monitor. If that doesn't do it then press "Menu" go to "Focus / Clock" (Press "Right" once to get there). Now press "Menu" to select it and play around with those settings. I have mine set to 13 for Focus and 50 for clock.

I'm no expert on this but what this generally does is adjust the size of your pixels. If you have your pixel ratio messed up even a little bit in these settings then it will give text and edges the appearance of being either very blurry or very distorted and pixelated. Good luck! If that doesn't work then it's either a faulty monitor or something with your machine.

What kind of Mac do you have?

I have a PowerMac G5 and plus...i am using the DVI port. It's only really noticeable when I look for it. Could be my eyes though as I just got off using 2 old 17' CRT's.
