hi

when using two apple studio displays 21' crt's as dual displays

are you supposed to connect the usb connectors of both the monitors?

or are you supposed to just connect the vga connectors only?

Whoa, triple threads, I think just the VGA is sufficient. I'm assuming the USB is for a USB hub built into the monitor. You could connect both but it's probably not important.

*bump* because the forums haven't recognized that I replied.

Edit - and they still haven't. I give up.

the usb connectors are for the built in hub - but I think also for allowing the coloursync button on the front of the monitor to work

(have no idea why thread is tripled - I only sent once - moedrator please delete other two)

Hey, I'm pretty sure the monitor doesn't need the usb connector hooked up for coloursync to work... could go and check my 21 inch Studio Display, but Eastenders is on... still I'm pretty sure. Saying all that, you've got 2 x usb ports on the mac, with dual 21 inch Studio displays, you could have 8 x usb ports available- plug one monitor into each port, then your keyboard into the side of the monitor
