Hey all, I'm a fan of gaming on my iBook, especially emulators. Since my Genesis and NES have long died, I've kept their games alive on my computer. Problem is, using a keyboard for some console games can be aggravating, and most USB pads I've found are garbage. However, I'm absolutely in love with the S-type Xbox pad and have been told that it simply connects through a standard USB connection with a proprietary plug. Is there any way to splice it to work on standard USB and, if so, would OS X recognize it? I might also be willing to shell out a little $$ for a ready-made solution. Any thoughts?

EDIT: A quick Ebay search for "Xbox USB adapter" turned up several products. However, they all seem to support only Windows, with no mention of Mac OS X. Any word on whether they'd work?

oh ya and if your any good with joining wires, you can get a cheap usb cable, and cut the ends off the xbox cable and the usb cable and join the wires, there is one extra wire on the xbox controller that is useless.

that is what i did and it was recognized with no problems

there is instructions on the net for doing it somewhere, just search google
