Hello all.

I recently purchased a Lite-On 16101B CDRW for use in my Beige G3/ 333 Rev C. tower: OS 9.2.2, all the firmware upgrades, 768M of memory. I put the thing in my tower in place of the original 24X CD-Rom (I'm not exactly an early adopter!). The original CD drive was set to master, so I set the CDRW to master. When I booted, I got a flashing red/amber led on the front of the drive. At the end of the boot, the LED went green, but the drive doesn't open, or respond to the 'eject' command. Also, the Maxtor 20G hard drive on the same bus won't mount when the CDRW is attached. Neither drive shows up in Apple system profiler. I've tried different extension sets from 9.2.2 Base up to All on. Neither Toast or iTunes will see the drive. One time I got it to open, but it wouldn't mount the CD I put in it. I've tried various Master/Slave combinations, as well as various positions on the both IDE buses. I also tried the drive in an external Firewire case that worked fine with a Maxtor 60G HD, still no luck. Any ideas?
