I have a 20" Cinema display at work, and have noticed "bur in" around the dock.

It's around 7 months old.

LCDs do not suffer from permanent burn-in, just pixel laziness. If you were to move the Dock somewhere else and then use the computer normally, the latent image would disappear within a few days at most.

I'm actually trying that now... and after 24 hours... I can still see the darkness, but it's much better (less noticeable).

Thank you!

I've been following their steps. I have energy saver on... and a screen saver. It goes in to sprees saver after 5 minutes... and to sleep after 15.

I also change my desktop screen every month.

Interestingly enough... it's now gone after 48 hours. I guess I should simply adjust the size of the dock from time to time.

Well, the gist of it is just to give the pixels a good exercising regularly, as a screen saver will do. But that's only if the persistent image is actually bothering you, because you don't need to worry about permanent damage.
