Hello -

I want to buy an MP3 player that also has an FM Radio Tuner built in. Ideally, I would like one that has Firewire (dreaming!) but I'll take USB. Of course, it has to work with OS X.

Is there such a thing? The FM Radio Tuner is very important, so that rules out an iPod.

Thanks.

I don't know of any hard drive players with a tuner, but if you're willing to use CDs for your storage medium, look at the Rio SP250. Very nice. I've got the original Volt model, and wish I could justify buying the 250. Built in FM tuner, nice display, nice features, firmware upgradable... good stuff.

Thanks!

I was also down at the Good Guys today, and I saw the Riot Riot Sonic Blue thing-a-ma-bob. It has an FM Tuner & a 20 GB Hard disk...sounds good, except that it's only USB 1.0 - imagine loading up 20 GB via USB, ugh. It's also like $400. I just want a little jobbie I can take to the gym, you know?

So today I bought a little Aiwa AM/FM Tuner, pretty cheap, pretty nice, and I guess I'll get an iPod or something if I want an MP3 player.

I guess this comes a little late but the Creative Studio Nomad MP3 players both come with FM tuners. I have a Nomad II and I've had no problems with it. The Nomad IImg is a sleeker unit with a few extra bells and whistles. I use it with Mac OS X iTunes without any problems. The only point against them is they are both quite old models and overdue for replacement... but they still compare well to the competition.
Fink Different eh!
