I just got an ADS Tech Turbo 2.0 PCMCIA card, so I can attach a video
iPod to a TiBook. The TiBook is running 10.4.2. Testing various
permutations indicates that the TiBook and iPod and cable are
all fine.

Problems:
(1) The iPod sometimes mounts (about 20% of the time), in which case
I do get USB 2.0 transfer speeds; but sometimes (about 80% of the time),
the iPod does not mount, although it wakes up enough to get the
"Do Not Disconnect" message on the screen. Even if the iPod mounts,
sometimes I am not able to communicate with it after a time.

(2) I've had some kernel panics, which the logs indicate are connected
to this Cardbus peripheral. (I do not have the computer handy now
to post the crash logs.)

Anyone have experience with this or suggestions? Anyone have success
with attaching a video iPod to a TiBook with this or another PCMCIA
card?

I've only used PC Cards a few times, and only really to attach items with a low power draw. Whenever I've attached something else, I have had to plug an external power cable into the card itself.
Is this applicable to your card?

I would also try wiping everything from your iPod using the iPod Updater, and then run the latest software release for it.

Hope thats useful.

TiBook uses PCard not PCMCIA, two similar but differant animals.
