I bought this model recently, using it in a SCSI chain on a Mac Performa 6400/200/G3 with 136 Megs of RAM ('RAMdoubled' to 240) and system 8.1. I easily managed to burn a CD with MP3 files right away, but I can't play Audio CDs in the CRW6416SX. If I load the Toast CD extension and use Toast (3.57) to mount the CD (it won't mount automatically) I can press the play button on AppleCD Player, but can't hear anything. Connecting headphones to the CRW6416SX directly lets me hear the sound.
If I load the AppleCD extension I can use the other (internal) Apple CD ROM drive to hear the audio CD without problem, but can't mount it in the CRW6416SX.
Is there a way to use both drives at the same time?
