Hello,

I'm having problems transferring my mindiscs to CDR. As I have an iMac DVSE and there doesn't seem to be an acceptable 8x firewire burner, I am currently using my friends' machine, a G3/266 with a Yamaha SCSI burner(4x4x16).
Specifically the problem is when he converts the Minidisc onto the hard drive and then onto CDR, it is written as one long track(i.e.the track marks from the Mindisc are not recognized by the computer and therefor not transferred onto CDR).
So here's my question: Is there a type of software that will let me accomplish this or is this something that I have to do manually?

Thanks in advance...

How are you interfacing the MD Player with the Mac, e.g., through the mic jack?

yep, through the mic jack with an audio cable. Is the problem because we are doing this with an analog cable?

The computer can't discern when a track stops and starts on an analog signal (mice jack). Record and save each track separately, to get the results you desire.

If it's a pain to stop and start minidisc and G3 to separate tracks you could always try a cheap sound package like Soundedit16. You already have it, if you have Macromedia Director! Take it all in one and then carve it up afterwards. You could also do this simply through Quicktime 4.1PRO (for $29).
