Would it be possible for me to hook up two computers (one Mac, one Windoze PC) to one monitor, mouse, and keyboard via some sort of adapter or switchbox?

I believe I've heard of such things...

Does anyone have any idea whether such a thing actually exists? And if it does, where I can get some information on it? I've been given access to a cheap PC and would like to just stick it under my desk and hook it up to the same monitor 'n stuff that I have hooked up to my Mac (it's fugly and I have no space).

Thanks in advance!
Be happy.

Gefen makes a couple of boxes that may help. <http://www.gefen.com>

It depends on the interfaces, but from the sounds of it, (an old PC), the PC/Mac may help...but I don't think that has USB support, just ADB and PS/2.

I just looked on their site, and it seems that there is ADB-PS/2 support, or USB support on some of the products, but no mix. Maybe you will have to email them to be sure.
If you are doing a web search, these are generically called KVM devices.

If your PC has USB ports, you can get a KVM switch...I purchased one from
Compucable which is the cheapest I've seen ($35). Most of the "brand names" run about $90 or more. So far, it's worked pretty well. I use it to switch between my TiBook and a PC, using an old iMac keyboard, MS Intellimouse, and monitor. The only minor problem I have is that it's so small that there is very little room between the VGA connectors, and it's a tight squeeze to get cables connected.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.
