I have a hd tivo, and I am trying to import the HD format video from my tivo to my mac. is there any sort of hardware out there that would let me do this without losing HD ratio, and quality.

I don't know if the HD Tivo supports the Home Media Option, etc. If it does then search http://macupdate.com for Tivo and try out some of the apps. If you can get the video off and it's not encrypted then try MPEG Streamclip to see if it'll convert it to whatever format you need.
