What the Subject Line says. Anyone get one yet? Is it a pain to use with your Mac? Do you use the 3rd party software to sync it with iCal, Address Book, etc. or do you just use T-Mobile's web-based utilities.

I don't have my SK3 yet, but it's only a mater of days ;-)

I don't really use iCal or Address book that much anyways, so I'll probably stick with the web interface.

You'll have to post a review when the thing's in your hot little hands. I'm tempted, 'cuz I'm a gadget nut. I can't stop thinking about the device's kiddie rep though. Would be interested in knowing if anyone over 17 who's not Paris Hilton actually finds the device useful and/or powerful enough for day-to-day use.

They struck out on the design. Same crappy screen, mediocre phone, cruddy battery life. There's quite a few (non-mac) reviews out already.

I'd rock this thing if it were more serious about what it's supposed to do.

I'm looking at getting one and am also wondering if there's a way for it to sync with iCal and Address Book.

And and who cares about what reviews say. It's the best at what it does. If you're a business salesman that needs to sync with exchange, then it's not for you, but guess what, not everyone is the same as you!

Check this out:

http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_hiptop.php

I just bought this software to sync my Treo 700W with my Macs and noticed that they have a Hiptop / Sidekick version of the software as well.

Hope this helps you guys! Enjoy your new toys...

On a lark i picked one up today. i'm thinking of switching my phone service to tmobile since sprint doesn't work inside my house.

I like the interface...it's easy to get around. i looked at some of the win-mobile phones but they didn't play nice with mac and all the data plans seemed outrageous.

i wish there was a trial version of the missing sync software since there were reports that t-mobile recently broke it and i want to make sure my multiple calendars will all sync correctly.

oh well...guess i'll pony up the $30 since i have no choice.

browsing forums is a mess but gmail seems to work passably. i haven't set up POP3 pushing from gmail yet, but that will happen once i get a chance to really play with it.

IM'ing is solid and the keyboard is very nice...nicer than the rubber buttons on the old one IMHO.

i'll try and post some more thoughts on here...but i'm a little swamped since the Bar exam is 13.5 days away for me.

Look forward to hearing more, jur1st. Especially the iCal/Address Book syncing details. And how's the Internet speed? I was out today, with 4 bars out of 5 of T-Mobile service... And gave up looking for something on Google after about 3 minutes. That was on a BlackBerry. Is the Sidekick 3 any better for web surfing? Google Maps? CNN? ESPN? How do sites like that look.

For data I am sure it is good but it is just to beastly and awkward as a phone.

it's not too bad to talk on...i'm doing the prepay thing for a while so i've been pretty cheap with my minutes.

i hate to say it, but when you use a bluetooth headset (ONLY when you're talking in private) it's quite nice.

the coolest thing i've discovered so far is using bloglines on the SK3's browser. super fast for all the sites i'm looking at.

the biggest slowdown comes when initially contacting a wib page. after it connects the page renders realy quickly.

So those of you with a sidekick, do you use it mostly for data or voice? I cant imagine it is fun to use as an actual phone.

One word: Blackberry. The sidekick is too "kiddish" for me. Besides that, Cingular dropped the price of the Blackberry Unlimited plan to 21.99 a month. Good stuff.
