Hi all,
I'm anticipating getting an iMac in late July for college, and I'm going to need a scanner for photo-copying and stuff. I am a bit of a fan of Canon products and really like the CanoScan scanners, namely the N670U and N676U because of their size and USB-power.
I know Canon had some BETA drivers for these scanners a couple months ago, but pulled them off the net for some reason. I have also heard that OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) has better support for scanners. Does anyone with a Canon scanner similar to the ones above have any idea on the future of these and OS X? I suppose I could just wait and see for myself when I do get my iMac, but I'm a bit impatient with Canon since they have only told me "We are currently working on support for Mac OS X."
Thanks for any info you give! Oh, by the way, I did run a search on the forums for CanoScan and Cannon Scanner but didn't find any results, so forgive me if this is a repetative topic.

Canon pees me off regarding the OS X support.
But, Vuescan supports my FB630Ui, so who needs Canon.
The scanner is great, it's the lack of interest in porting drivers that pees me off.
But, I am happy, because now I can scan.
So, I recommend Canon's hardware, but you'd do good to buy Vuescan anyway.

I've got the 670 and have had no problems under OS 9. Haven't tried OSX yet. It's a nice little scanner. It's a little loud and a little slow, but I like the fact that it's USB powered and so very small. I think it's a good choice, assuming you can find drivers for OSX.
