We recently got a HP970cse for one of our office staff for his G4 TiPowerBook and G4 533, it is horribly slow. Did we hook it up wrong? It took 25 minutes to print 9 pages of text on the laptop! The performance on his G4 533 is not much better. Is there something that can be done to speed it up?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Make sure you aren't printing from IE, it is painfully slow at prints... otherwise, make sure you are using a lower quality print (draft quality is insanely fast on HP printers and still looks decent). Try the standard driver update, and if you aren't, try plugging the printer directly into the computer's usb port.

9 pages should take about a minute or two on your printer... maybe you have a lemon...

Try giving the printer more memory. Highlite the printer icon. Key command-i. Set memory amount at bottom. I have mine set at 2000k, however, I have a lot of physical, 516MB. Try 1000k, and see if there is any improvement. Hope this helps.
