HI there, I'm thinking of getting an ipod, but I have a g3 PB wallstreet (ie no firewire!). I have heard that if I get a firewire PCcard, it won't work with an ipod as it is not powered. Is that true? What happens if the batteries of the ipod are still good, does it still have to be powered? Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Judd

Hi Judd,
Have a friend who has your set-up... works great, although it won't charge, but you can always plug it into the wall for that.
good luck!

best fo luck!

Thanks guys. I thought I would have had to wait until I got a new mac. Now I have to decide whether to buy the ipod now or wait until MWSF to see if anything new is out. Any rumours on when a new ipod is out?

Oh I forgot to mention. Do you think if I got a PC Card firewire, it would also work with a minidv camcorder (for video editing)? Or is my PB G3 wallstreet too slow? Or would it be the card that would be too slow?
