Just thought i'd post some info on the above mentioned drive.

I got it last night from OWC, about 50 hours after ordering it. The case is thicker than similar 2.5" VST cases. The drive enclosed is an IBM travelstar. The red/green leds that indicate use/power are very nice. It comes with a carrying case.

Plugged it in to a blue g3 (rev 1, ata 33 bus) with os 9.1, it mounted flawlessly. dragged it to the trash, unplugged and plugged it back in and it worked fine.
Get info reveals "MAC OS EXTENDED" formatting.

Launched OS X 10.0.3 with drive attached and it worked fine as well.

According to Atto Express pro tools 2.5, the drive gets 13.8 MB/s read, and 11.0 MB/s write on the 512KB setting, just like the results on the OWC page. As a reference my internal Quantum 20GB, 7200 rpm drive gets 30.5 read, and 25.8 write with the same test.

Real world:
I backed up a 4.01GB of data and that took approximately 17 minutes, yielding a transfer rate of about 3.9MB/s, mind you i didn't time this with a stopwatch. just a rough measurement. Pretty much what was reported on xlr8yourmac.com.

overall i'm very impressed. i got exactly what i was looking for. a nice portable storage solution. i plan to back up my hard drive with this drive and transfer files to and from other computers on it. It is small, light, and silent. Just what i wanted.
