Hi guys,

I realise this topic has been discussed before in this forum (i did a search) but not for around 12 months, so I am very interested in peoples opinions and experiences now...

I have a new g4 imac with apple pro speakers, and I would like to upgrade the sound.

I have narrowed down my choice to two options - I keep the apple pro speakers and get an isub, or i ditch them and get the sound sticks.

Previous posts on this tell me that there are quite mixed opinions on this issue. Whilst the soundsticks apparently are better, the pro speakers and isub have their strengths too.

Also, I am aware there were issues with the isub in osx, are these now resolved?

Obviously its a hell of a lot cheaper for me to buy the isub given that I already have the pro speakers, so that is my preferred option financially speaking, but I dont want to buy a lemon either....

I voted for the iSub, but if you really want good sound, buy some Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers. <img src="http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" alt=" - " />

the usb iSub will work OK, but no seperate control in the sound prefs so it gets ALL the signal. OS9 was better for this as you could adjust the sub independantly. The iSub/Soundsticks combo has a slightly different iSub as it ( I believe) has a dial to adjust the level on the actual iSub itself. I dont know about the latest audio out plugs on the new iMac ( someone else helpout please) as it is different in some way than the older audio out plugs - does any of the sound stick package works or do you need to buy a specific model ?
Anyway - whatever you choose, iSub is one of the best and cheapest upgrades.
