Speaking of firmware updates, how many peeps do you know who own PeeCee's with IEEE 1394 ports? Ask any one who as a PC, and they probably (9 times out of 10) won't have any idea what your talking about. If they do know, then they most likely have a macintosh.

All new macintoshes in the past two years have firewire; to date, they still make most PC's without IEEE 1394.

As previously mentioned, I also think its crazy to have a firmware updater available for the computer environment that rarely has the connection in the first place. (Especially when one pays above average costs for an external drive, and then lack the support you deserve, QUE!.)

I hope, but doubt, that Plextor (and more importantly QUE!) are listening. grrrrrrrr!!!!!!

I agree, most PCers don't have a clue about firewire. Really though, what can you expect? Que! in my experence makes poor products.

We (my family) at one point had bought a Que firewire burner, which we found to be a very very poor product. It did not seem to want to recognize CD-Rs! Did I mention it was a burner?

So we returned it and got the Yamaha 16x10x40 firewire and you know what? The Yamaha KICKS ASS. To put it bluntly the burner is iMac simple. Plug it in and go (on OS 9.1).

We now own two Yamaha burners and I have had one failed CD out of both of them. And that failed CD was my own fault, not the drive's.

Hello,

As this thread is mainly about CD burners, then I am going to move this thread to the Peripherals Forum as you may get more help/copmments from there. Thanks!

Does anyone know if you can use the command line in OSX to update the firmware?
