I have a Powerbook G4 1.5ghz 15". This past weekend my LG PM-325 slider phone died. All but a few of the number buttons stopped working, and the ear piece cut out. I'd had the phone about one and a half years and when I took it to the store they said all they could do for me was swap it out with the same phone for 60 dollars (Sprint). They also couldn't transfer any of my phone numbers saved in my phone. The PM-325 does have bluetooth but it will not sync using it.

Anyway, this January I can get out of my contract with Sprint or renew and get a new phone at the discounted rate. I'm wondering what the best service and phone are for syncing with my Powerbook so I never lose all my phone numbers again.

Thanks.

I've had the most success with Sony Ericsson phones, all the others i've seen working with Macs have had an problem or two.

Macs seem to work at least OK with most brands-at least some models of most brands. I've used Motorola phones with an iBook running OS X 10.3 (the V180 and RAZR) and they've worked fine for syncing with iSync. I haven't tried to do anything otherwise with them, but they are indeed visible to the Mac.

My Moto RAZR syncs with iSync, can transfer photos/videos/files back/forth with my G4, and can be used as a wireless modem via Bluetooth.(be sure to have the correct data plan with your wireless provider)

Cingular or T-Mobile should be your best choices in the states. These companies have the best selection of bluetooth phones, and for the most part are not crippled like some(your LG for instance)

Many/most SonyEricsson and Nokia phones can be used as remotes via Sailing Clicker on the mac.
