I am thinking about purchasing a laser printer. I have a Home/Office situation, I have a business that is not graphics oriented, I am more enterprise-oriented. So for me its all about the look of the letters I send out by snail-mail. I am trying to decide if I really need to go with the more expensive model just because it's 1200dpi versus 600dpi. Opinions?

I have the 1210 and it's excellent: fast output (once the machine is warm), clear crisp text and very affordable! I'd highly recommend it. It took a while before the macos x drivers were available but now they're fine and have already been updated once with significant perforance improvements.

I would agree with pete completely, especially if you're going to do mainly text driven documents... the printer is pretty nice, especially for the price. I was sold once I looked at the example output at my local Best Buy.
Cheers!

I bought the 1210 and I'm quite happy with it. (Still pine over the unusable 5700i Epson laser printer I've had three years.)
The one thing I haven't been successful with is printing multiple pages of a document on one sheet of paper. It shows up in the dialog box as an option but I get nothing when I try it under OS X.

I bought a 1210 this past weekend for my flat panel iMac. I can't seem to get it to print, let alone show up as a printer in OSX. I'm a Mac newbie, so please don't rag me about my ineptness. Help, advice, etc. would be appreciated. Somehow, I can only print in OS9...BUT it prints wonderfully!
Thanks!

The 1210 is inexpensive but solid. It was easy to set up and just does its job.

You need the OS X drivers for the Samsung in order to print in OS X. There is a link to these on Samsung's printer page at <a href="http://samsungelectronics.com/printer/support/downloads/400329_4381_file5.html" target="_blank">http://samsungelectronics.com/printer/support/downloads/400329_4381_file5.html</a> but everytime I've tried them I haven't been able to reach them. I've uploaded the drivers to my web page at <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/~chrisgeiger/downloads/" target="_blank">http://homepage.mac.com/~chrisgeiger/downloads/</a>... I belive these are the same drivers as those offered on Samsung's page. Good luck!
Cheers!

I am in the same situation too. I did some research and I found that the Samsung 1210 is the best deal in terms of quality and price.
Now, the 1210 comes with 8MB standard memory and the 1250 comes with 4MB but expandable to 68MB.
The 1250 also has PCL6 emulation. Could someone explain what that means exactly? Something to do with Postscript Level?
Thanks.
