I sold my Powermac with its original video card, right now I have the Nvidia 6800 Ultra video card installed so I have to remove it and install the original card (ATI Radeon 9600). My question, if I hooked up my 30" Cinema Display to the ATI 9600 card can it adversely effect the display? I know it won't display at its native resolution, I just want to make sure the it can't fry the display or anything! I just want to turn it on for a moment to make sure everything is ok. I can drag another display up from the basement but it would be easier if I can just hook up the 30" display.

If it fried anything, it would fry the video card. It should be fine for a moment's use.

No, it won't harm either end.

It would be braindead design to harm either end.
