I know this was mentionned here before but I do have to say it for myself. Epson does a shitty job at serving the interest of its Mac users curtomers, especially those of us who have migrated to OSX. They do offer a "promotion" where (so they say) they'll provide OSX users with a driver as long as you send them 3.99$ with a copy of your receipt and the UPC code found in the box at the time of purchase of your scanner. Well, I have that box right here beside me and there's no UPC code on it whatsoever. Maybe because I bought it here in Montreal, but since I don't have that UPC code, (the offer is valid for the US and Canada) the hell with me I guess. In any case, why would I pay anything in the first place. It's free for Win users, right? If Epson has indeed developed a driver for its scanners on OSX they should simply give it away, period.

www.hamrick.com says that most Epson SCSI and USB scanners should work. Download a copy a try it out--you don't have to pay unless you want to use it(the demo version leaves a watermark on the scans).

Vuescan does NOT work with the Perfection 1250U... I'm assuming this is due to the fact that the scanner language and chipset are different from the other Perfection series. Sorry!

I asked about this and was told "there are currently no X native drivers".
If anyone has in fact received an X driver for any epson scanner I hope you will post. It should be any time now (they had demo versions at MWSF in Jan, along with HP and Canon). I have a hard time spending money on vuescan when X drivers are so close. (yet so far)

Agfa came out with X drivers/software last fall, then promptly went out of business.

There's nothing on the market right now AFAIK. Soon.
