Do you know of a shop that may be able to repair Newer "Maxpower" upgrade cards?

I have a Maxpower G3/466 that recently stopped working. The problem with it is that it will keep the monitor in the "sleep" mode all the time. If I start the computer, the monitor's power light turns green for just a second, then it goes back to orange and the monitor stays sleep. Also, trying to reset PRAM won't work, because pressing and holding the proper keys won't make the computer cycle from on to off and then back to on (nothing happens when holding Option, Command, R, and P).

However, everything works fine if I remove the Maxpower upgrade and replace it with the original Apple 180 MHz CPU card. Resetting PRAM with the Apple card works as it should.

Hi Ra. You might try DTTService.com. They repair some of Newer's Powerbook cards and I wouldn't be surprised if they also do the Desktop's as well.

Also try Sonnettech.com . They are competitors to Newer who hired a lot of the Newer engineers and technicians and set them up after Newer closed. They may provide service for a few or know of a provider.

Better than that, Sonnet basically took almost everybody from Newer and moved them into a building just down the street from the original Newer office. Methinks there's good stuff to come!

I'm also not particularly worried about my iMaxPower G4/433 ever failing anyway! They made good stuff, albeit VERY slowly!
