Really like the config. on JVC GY-DV500.
I have heard that there could be audio sync problems when using it with my Final Cut Pro.
Has anyone heard of this problem?
If so, is there a solution that allows use of the DV500?
Thanks,
Bob C.

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but the following site lists all of the officially compatible devices for FCP 2. At the bottom is a link for FCP 1.2.5. I don't see the camcorder you're asking about on either list. Therefore, as far as Apple's concerned, it doesn't work.

Are you thinking of hooking the camera straight up to your computer ? I would suggest that if you're thinking about the GY-DV 500 that you find a deck to handle the strain of editing. Wearing out your camera as your editing/playback device doesn't make sense.

On the topic of audio sync, you shouldn't have any problem.

Powerg4, don't you do all the editing on the computer/hard drive? I have not done any video editing yet (I have a JVC miniDV, which I bought before looking at the list of "compatible" DV cameras). I thought the main problem was the inability of the computer to control the camera. I also thought the way around that was to manually play the camera, upload all the video, edit, then manually set the camera to record while the computer outputs the edited video. Am I wrong?
