I'd like to use minidiscs as smaller cdrs that could fit in a pocket. Anyone done this before or can confirm this works? I know they won't work in the new slot loaders but that isn't an issue...

Well, yes... but its very inaccurate and likely wouldn't work...
You can however get data MO drives...

Really, all it is dependent on is the drive...
Do you mean using the disc itself to store data, or using a MiniDisc deck to record data to a MiniDisc?

I think he means the mini CDR discs you can buy that are mostly used these days by that new Sony Digital Camera to store 156MB. Leave it to Sony to invent non-reusable digital film.
Yes, you can use them in your system and there are adapters for the slot-loading type of drives as well...

I'd like to write data on them from a CDRW drive and then use them in an iBook. Anyone know where a good place to get some is?

oh god usb minidisc.
that's the best idea never used by a major corporation.

of course, sony will eventually make one (i think they might have already)
and it will only work with their comps... oh well.
