Hi,

I just received my Formac Firewire 12x (the drive is very nice (and bus-powered!) which uses the Sanyo Burn-Proof mechanism.

It says that it's possible to burn CDs in the background with this feature activated, but I still can't get out of Toast (4.1.2) once it starts burning. The pinwheel just keep turning until the CD is done!

Any thoughts on how to actually burn in the background?
Has anyone actually done this?

Many thanks.

-Greg

ps I'm using a PB Ti 400 with 384mb ram.

I figured it out -- with a Burn-Proof drive, you need you check the "Powerkey/Rebound compatible" box under the preferences menu.

How intuitive -- hope this helps someone else with the same problem! I'm burning a CD right now as I type this!

Burn-proof is a croc. You can use any drive with powerkey/rebound.
The bigger its cache, the better.
