I would like to put a cd-rw in my g4, since they are about half as much money as a comparable firewire external cd-rw. Is there a kit to modify the zip drive bay under the DVD to accept the 5" internal cd-rw drive?

Not realistically.
The heatsink goes around that, so you'd have to mod the heatsink too.
Perhaps ABOVE the DVD drive?
I can't open mine at the moment, but ther might be room... it'd be a pretty big/ugly mod though...

Above the DVD won't work either. The RAM occupies that area when the tower is closed.

No, there isn't connections available inside the tower for an internal burner. It's been talked about before, but there's no realistic way to do it.

It's just my humble opinion.

There is an internal FireWire port and ATA. FireWire no internal FireWire port on the newest machines, however the pins are there...
