The Logitech wireless two button with scroll mouse.

I was really worried at first because I thought that it would need OS 10 drivers or something. I was wrong. From games to word to Illustrator it works perfectly fast.

I had a Intellimouse Explorer before the Logitech. It was slow as molasses on OS 10.1.3. It really needs drivers. Bleh.

Which model do you have, the "Mouseman" Optical or just plain Optical? How long do the batteries last for you? How is the range?

Thanks.

Ever wonder why Apple doesn't make a scrolling mouse to go with the imac. The mouse that comes with is pretty, but I miss the scrolling thing, and hate to mess up the aesthetics of my set up with another look. Form or function - hate to have to choose between the two.

I have the logitech wireless optical mouse too! My favorite mouse I've owned by far. The batteries need to be changed about once per month and the max. range is about 3 to 4 ft from the base. The best thing is you don't have to install any drivers, everything works perfect out of the box. And the colors of the mouse match up pretty well with my Graphite iMac.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

This should go in Peripherals.

I would have to nominate the Logitech MouseMan Traveler for "best mouse" in terms of styling and portability, the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 for "best first-person shooter mouse" because of its insane rate of 6,000 pictures per second and light weight, and the Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical for "most precise" due to its two optical sensors and its innate ability to stop wherever I want it to without difficulty, important for real-time strategy games.

I agree with the Logitech Traveler for the mini-mice. For regular mice, I would have to go with that spiffy Microsoft Wireless Optical mouse. It fits my hand perfectly. It is expensive though.

And if you like your trackballs, I would nominate the Logitech Optical Two Button wireless with scroll wheel. Don't know how I lived without it.

I'm late but not dead- This is really a peripherals topic.

So it gets moved.

Thanks, and click here:

Click where?

I've got to give the vote to the Microsoft Intellimouse Optical. Solid, steady performer, even during extensive D2 "clickfest" sessions.

As long as we're casting votes, let me cast mine for the Kensington 5-button Optical Elite Pro. Works great with OS X out of the box, plus Kensington makes an X-version of 'MouseWorks' software. It's cheaper than the Intellimouse Explorer, works with both righties & lefties, and it has a cool 'Aqua' blue glow.

I looked at the Logictech wireless and decided that a cord really wasn't a problem for me, especially not at the cost buying batteries. For me the Kensington made the most sense on the price-for-feature scale. (updated to include image)

Yes, I tried it and didn't like it at all. I thought it was a bit too low profile (my fingers would constantly scrape the desk when moving it around)and it just felt cheap. But that's just my opinion, YMMV.

I just bought one yesterday. It takes AA batteries and comes with one set in the box.

I don't think so as it comes with a USB/PS2 adapter attached (and I don't think PS2 ports provide any power). AFAIK, the only power needed is provided by the batteries in the mouse.

<edit>
After a quick search, it looks like the PS2 port *may* provide power, so a powered USB port *may* be required. I have no idea.

Sorry to confuse!
