Has anyone tried to convert a USB ORB drive to Firewire? The USB version is simply a SCSI drive with a USB adapter. It would seem to be a pretty simple swap. The fact that Castlewood has farmed out their Firewire ORB drives to Fantom and others leads me to believe that it's not that straightforward. Has anyone had any experience with this swap?

I have an older SCSI external Orb that I'd like to convert to FireWire because of OS X's problems with SCSI (the cartridges won't even mount on the desktop in OS X). I'd like to hear if anybody has had success with a generic SCSI/FireWire adapter. Thanks for any advice...
