My oldest Zip 100 SCSI - six or seven year old (yes, I have more than one, but only one that's SCSI)
packed it in yesterday when I activated my normal back up - fortunately I had triple back ups, so still
have two left in mint condition.

SCSI Zips are not on the market today. Called Iomega in Utah - they no longer make SCSI Zips but
they have a stock of new one's on hand to replace Zips for registered users - $49 U.S.

Ordered one today - will be here tomorrow. When you receive the new one, you send the old one
back to them - they even pay the shipping. They also reminded me that they replace any damaged
disks at no charge, forever.

Well done Iomega!

They practically have to provide this kind of support for the lousy job they did with these drives. The newer ones don't seem to have the click of death anymore, but man, working with old ZIP drives was a chore!

I have to agree that Iomega has come a long way from their early beginnings with the "click of death". I think people are starting to forget about that, and rightly so, because they have improved their products and distanced themselves from the "click of death", some say even going so far as renaming their Clik drive, the Pocket zip.
I have to say that I am very pleased with my USB powered 250 Zip...
