Hi!

Could anyone tell me if there is a possibility to get a USB-scanner to run on my Mac? Unfortunately it came only with Win-drivers... was cheap, though! =8-]
Is there a TWAIn-driver that works with a whole range of scanners?
If You know, please tell me about it.

Thanks,

Dunk

If the scanner is a major brand unit, then you should be able to download drivers from the manufacurers site. Apple does include some generic drivers for usb devices, but I don't know how well they would work with a scanner. Plug it into you Mac, if the drivers aren't there already you should get a dialog box asking if you want to look on the internet for drivers. Other than that I'll have to leave to other posters here it answer your question.

You can check out http://www.art-scan.com . They have a twain replacement driver for many scanners... I'm not sure of it's cost, though. Depending on how much the software is, it might be better to purchase a new scanner (a lot of them are very inexpensive now, as cheap as $50)...
