hi,

im thinking about buying a macbook to run both windows and osx. im going to be using it primaraly for music production and the included 60gb hard drive is far too small for my needs. i currently have a pc running windows xp with a 160gb 7200rpm hard drive partioned into 2.
what i want to do is put this in an external enclosure and use it with the macbook - however i want to keep the existing data thats on it and i want it to work with both xp and osx.

is this possible? also, would it be fast enough to run, say a maximum of 32 audio tracks over usb2 or firewire?

thanx

Its only going to be possible if the Windows drive partitions are formatted in FAT32. OS X can only READ NTFS partitions, not write to them. OS X can fully read and write to FAT32 partitions.
