I have a Epson 740 and it was working fine until few days ago. Now, sometime when I am in the middle of printing something it start making strange noise (like.. click..bang..bang..) and it starts printing out of alignement. My printer is not guaranteed anymore and I am afraid if I take it to get repair it will cost lost of money. Anyone knows what I could do to try to get it to work properly?

Stand in fornt of your printer. Open up one hand completely. bring your arm back. Now smack the side of the printer. Hey, sometimes that woks if something is not quite right with the mechanics.

And if this doesn't work I guess you will suggest me to open the sliding door and trow it off the balcony

Seriously... I already tried to shake it a bit.. I also readjusted the ink cartridge and this is not working. Today it took me 4 attempts to be able to print a single page properly.

Sounds like the dreaded "whirr-bang" syndrome closing in...

First, I assume you've done all the align heads option in the epson tools, clean print heads, etc.

Try this:
Turn off Printer
Press Paper Load button
Hold it down
Press Power button
wait for power light to flash green
release paper button

It should print a test sheet. It also seems to fix the whirr-bang, at least temporarily.

If that doesn't work, search this forum for my user name, I listed a long list of things to try that I don't want to retype.
