Where have the gorgeous Nec/Mitsubishi, SONY, Eizo, LaCie… CRT's gone?, I still have to find a TFT with the same overall display quality than my Apple CRTs displays

NEC's MultiSync series is the same as the top-notch NEC-Mitsubishis of years past.

Thanks tooki, I had visited the NEC site for my country but I was unable to find any CRT model available, just they listed at the support page.

edit: oh, there are CRTs still available at the USA website, what gives !?

Nevertheless, it seems the current MultiSync CRT offer is not in the same league than the previous MultiSync FE2111 or FP2141 displays, they are 'only' 19 inches and kinda lacking that Pro look the previous models have. If I don't recall wrong, LaCie CRTs were based on NEC-Mitsubishi technology…

While the AccuSync series are the general business option, there is a 21 inches option… doesn't make much sense though. Well, I guess they want to sell that $7000 MultiSync LCD display

what country? i've heard certain european countries are banning crt's. but the real problem in the u.s. is that you can't buy a new toilet that'll flush a decent amount of water. i have a tendency to fill up a bowl from time to time.

Yes, angelmb, the old LaCie CRTs were in fact nothing more than rebadged Mitsubishi Diamond Pro displays. Other than the color, name, and price, they were identical.

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find some good used CRT displays if you need one. Lots of people are switching to LCD not because their CRTs have gone bad, but because they take space!

Yes, could be, sadly my 21" ACD has gone bad while the 17" ACD is just like out of the box, seriously, a comparison between both is like night and day, the 17" is so better than it is not even funny. Weird enough this 17" model is older than the 21" display.

I am considering picking up this 19" philips crt to go with a Mac Mini at some point in the future (when the low end goes core duo). My Dad does a lot of work with photos and accurate color is important. For that the CRT still rules, and this planned setup should be a fairly inexpensive (yet massive) replacement for his G4 / 350 Sawtooth + 17" CRT.
To be determined later.
