Will the rechargeable battery in the ipod ever wear out? I know that in other devices, such as laptops and camcorders, that use rechargeable batteries that the batteries are rendered useless after a certain number of charges. Will this happen to the ipod battery? And if so, will we be able to find replacements?

The lithium polymer battery used in the iPod is rated for 500+ total recharges, and is a standard model connected by the standard connection (TechTV took one apart the day they were released). So the battery should be good for a year or two with normal use, and when it dies, you can just replace it with a new one.

You'll most likely drop it or have it stolen long before then
