I got a firewire box about 2 wks ago and it does not seem to work on my Imac DV, when I plug in a harddisc to the firewire box and then plug in the box to the Imac the Imac harddisc rattles and then nothing. Profiler "sees" the firewire interface a "MP-FL0IX" (Ver 0.2) but not the harddisc inside the box, the annoying thing is that the box and same harddisc work on a PC no problem. I am asuming that as my JVC DV camera works via the firewire on the mac the both ports works. I have called the place that sent me the box so many times now but as I made the mistake of saying that it seems to work on a PC they are not beeing to helpful. I have tryed all the thing I can thing of form using os 9.0.3 and 9.0.4 and the firewire firmware 2.3.2, 2.4 and 2.5 and even trying pluging the before and after bootup NOTHING WORKS!!!! please help as I am about to throw the thing out the window!!!

Kali.

Check your extensions folder for these two Apple extensions: FireWire Enabler 2.5, FireWire Support 2.5. If your profiler recognizes the hard drive, and a hard drive icon shows up on your desktop, and the disk "rattles" inside the box, it sounds like a hardware problem. Take the drive to a Mac tech and have it checked out on an iMac.

Thanx Fredo,

But I dont think I explaned the prob to clear, all the extentions are there the Imac only see the interface card NOT the HD inside the box so no icon on the desktop and drive set up only lists the internal HD and DVD. It makes no odds if anything is connectedto the interface card or not it only see the interface. and as I said the place I got it from are to be honest not interested now they have been paid.
